Five Questions to Laura Hendricks
How would you describe your photography to someone who has never seen it?
Dreamlike landscapes. Places that seem other-worldly but familiar at the same time.
What makes a great photograph?
A familiar photograph makes a good photograph. Photography allows us to view captured moments that are similar to ones we’ve read about, dreamed about, talked about, thought about, etc. Even if we haven’t seen similar moments with our own eyes, good photography always seems somewhat relatable.
What’s your main source of inspiration when you’re behind the camera?
Minimalism, simplicity, music, and design. I love having the things that inspire me creatively influence the way I take pictures. I think about what music would be playing if my photo had sound. What font and text would a graphic designer assign to my images?
How is the photography industry changing in the digital era?
It’s opening up more options of how we create digital marketing, advertising, art, etc. Photography is used as a tool or art form so widely now- it can send a message as easily as any other method in this digital era.
Have you heard of Blockchain and if so, what are your views on it?
I have never heard of it! It sounds interesting…
